The Fifth & Terrace is a boutique French restaurant in Toronto with romantic ambience and delicious cooking. The dining room is an intimate space with fire side sofas and the terrace, a heated rooftop oasis with spectacular views of Toronto. Headed by Executive Chef JP Challet and Chef Robert Toppan, our culinary team creates a modern cuisine to reflect today’s tastes and respect vegetarian and gluten-free diets.


French-born Chef Jean-Pierre Challet is internationally recognized for his mastery of French cuisine. He has represented Canada on multiple occasions at The James Beard House. Publications including Gourmet, Toronto Life, Globe & Mail, The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal describe his cuisine as “lavish”, “heavenly” and “creative”. Chef Robert Toppan’s cuisine is deeply influenced by his Italian roots. After graduating from George Brown College, Rob continued his studies in Italy’s ALMA – International School of Italian Cuisine. There, he honed his skills at Michelin-starred restaurant Antica Corte Pallavicina before returning to Toronto to join his mentor JP Challet at Ici Bistro and The Fifth.
